New Art by Glenda Green

The Art of Love Without End

The amazing spiritual journey of Glenda Green began in 1992 with her visionary painting of "The Lamb and The Lion." Before that, her life's work began with an oil painting at the age of three, followed by an endless succession of award winning creations. Childhood awards were followed by major scholarships to art schools and universities. Before she was thirty, Glenda was considered by many art directors and critics, including Thomas Hoving, then Director of the Metropolitan Museum, Clement Greenberg critic for the New York Times, and Georgia O'Keefe to be one of the most impressive portraitists of her generation. In those early years she had paintings acquired by such prestigious museums as the Smithsonian Institution, and exhibited in such preeminent halls as those of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Her art is preciously retained in the photo archives of such legendary museums as the Louvre, the British Museum, the Hermitage, and the Prado.

Glenda's heart-centered, loving approach to life's many other dimensions would not permit a complete focus on painting, as glamour careers usually demand. In keeping with her expansive nature, she opened the windows and extended her world. However, artistic creations have continued to be a major part of her life, earning her perpetual respect from those who know what makes art great. Art is indelibly part of her character, her perceptual sensitivity, and refined nature, as well as an inextricable part of her pathway and gift to spirituality.

For all of these reasons, a full and balanced representation of Glenda's place in contemporary spirituality would not be complete without display of the art that is relevant to her spiritual pursuits and contributions.

Most important is the monumental portrayal of Jeshua as "The Lamb and The Lion." The original painting, which measures 48 x 48 (plus frame), is now housed in a church in Fort Worth, Texas. It has been compared by preeminent critics to the paintings of Raphael.

Secondly, is her painting of "Jeshua" in close up portrait form. This has been compared by many to the famous Renaissance portrayal of him by Bernini.

This painting fits in the line of my "More than Meets the Eye" landscapes, which are amazing multiple perspective creations (far beyond three-dimensional), which give the viewer a conscious way of crossing the threshold from his own space into another vivid world. The realism is rich and meticulous, and just painterly enough for you to enjoy the expressions of that medium.
